Networking tip: The Personal Business Card

Image
Building a network is important. Start this early (in college) and it will definitely help your career in the future. For all our students, we highly encourage meeting (new) people, especially in events, meetups, and when in business environments. Although business cards are not used as often, if at all, anymore, having a business card at hand when going to networking events can leave a great impression and be a simple reminder of who you are and how people can contact or keep in touch with you. If you would like to create a business card, Canva has some free templates here:  https://www.canva.com/business-cards/templates/ If you want to include a Baruch logo, you can find it here:  https://toolkit.baruch.cuny.edu/reputation-management-toolkit/logos/

Employers who have engaged an outside recruiter will trust that you have been well vetted and therefore will be more inclined to inter...

Clear and effective communication not only ensures that all team members are on the same page, but it also encourages a positive work environment. Specifically, as a data analyst, I've learned the importance of asking proper questions. The process entails not just acquiring and analyzing data but also comprehending the context, recognizing the problem or opportunity, and framing questions that lead to actionable insights. It is important to learn how to effectively communicate the goals and scope of a project to concerned parties and then convert those needs into data-driven solut...
