What has been one of the most important things you’ve learned at your internship? One of the most important things I have learned at my internship is to be enthusiastic. It is invaluable, especially when you are an intern. In my Madison Square Garden (MSG) internship, a pivotal learning experience was exploring data engineering tools like Talend and Data Build Tool (DBT). Utilizing Talend, an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tool, I am honing skills in designing and implementing seamless data integration processes and optimizing data flow for timely insights. Similarly, exploring an analytics engineering tool like DBT has enhanced my ability to work on the transformation layer of data models, ensuring clean datasets for analytical purposes. HireVue is a tool that relies on AI to make the hiring process efficient for employers. The company supports its business model with science and logic, claiming that machine learning is more consistent than humans, that AI will focus on skills rather than “irrelevant information like how someone was dressed ”, and that data scientists and industrial/organizational scientists regularly monitor the technology for biases.
